A Walk To Remember...

Last Thursday our friends, The Myers, graciously invited us to the Bethlehem Walk, which is held by Salem Baptist Church, it's an "interactive outdoor drama", takes you back to all the sights, sounds, and smells of Bethlehem. Orion, Ethan, and I attended last year. This year we had the pleasure of bringing Daddy along!

Speaking of Daddy, I'd also like to say, CONGRATULATIONS, to my husband, who earlier that same day passed his exam and is now a Certified Residential Appraiser. We are so proud! Love you!

So off we go two vans in tow, one long 288 ride later and we pull up to the parking lot... full! The discouraging part was the long long line that was formed out side the tent. The tent was where you waited for your group number to be called. They were providing a shuttle service at the Food Lion down the road, so long story short after much back and forth between Ken and I, we are not the greatest when it comes to crowds, cranky children, and long wait. But we ultimately stayed, what kind of friends would we have been leaving Jason and Jillian out numbered, 2 to 5 (Orion was invited to stay) and a long wait ahead. We were inspired and so so grateful for the experience, especially for our children! Below are some highlights...

Orion was very engrossed, took in a lot more of story this year.
Ethan finally got his bus ride and was a trooper for not having been fed dinner yet.

Andrew was very excited about his scroll.
Lilly had a question for just about everyone.
Luke, a trooper even though sleepiness tried to win out at times,
only to immediately be revived at the end with cookies & hot cocoa.
Miss Lydia, sweet as she could be, not a peep made all evening.

"And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn." Luke 2:7

Jillian with 2 of her 4 angels.

"And after three days rise again."  Mark 8:31

Hot Cocoa and cookies, perfect ending to a chilly evening.

Despite getting home a little after midnight, the night was wonderful. The time spent getting to know friends even more, irreplaceable. It was certainly... a walk to remember.

What a great post about our memorable evening. I'm always impressed with your photography--even with almost no lighting you managed to get some great shots! Thanks for posting this--I plan to just link it to my blog. Looking forward to our playdate tomorrow!
