Bench Monday: I Love The Rain the Most...

Bench Monday: I Love The Rain The Most... Edition {May 17 2010}

when it stops!!!! But it's raining here again today {5/17/10}, yuck! Was hoping to go to the park with the littlest bean but that is quite out of the question :( So instead I ripped my living room apart to free up the front bay window & make a little rainy umbrella rainbow fun of my own!!! I {{{♥}}} my pink umbrella & shooting this was tons of fun, had the littlest bean rolling in the floor :) He loved watching the umbrella spin round & round! So for now I am quite grateful for his laughter, a sweet sweet sound! Hope your Monday is drier than ours :)

Bench Monday: Carolina Pines Edition

Bench Monday: Carolina Pines Edition
{Morning Thought} ~ There's no place like home, there's no place like home, there's no place like home... click heels together three times... click, click, click... holding breath.............. dang thought that would work!!! :o)

Took this shot today on the way home from my southbound adventures. Stopped off at a beautiful rest area in South Carolina that just so happened to have a stunning lake & a lovely pine tree filled picnic spot! It was wonderful, so much so that I spent about 45min taking photos & had a moment to be lost in thought. It was truly an oasis found along my windy road home!

Happy Bench Monday!

Bench Monday: The Aviators {Solo Flight} Edition
{May 3 2010}
Bench Monday: The Aviators {Solo Flight} Edition
Birthday weekend continued into Sunday, that was oldest bean's actual birthday, to which we decided to take it easy :o) So a wonderful breakfast was had, then we packed up & headed out to the Aviation Museum, one of Orion's favorite places to go.

It was his first choice for the day's activity. He has been very interested in planes & helicopters lately. Must say I am loving his enthusiasm but planes, yikes!!!! We had a fabulous time exploring all the hands on displays, littlest bean ran amuck, & mommie crossed a few barriers to get some interesting shots, shhhh don't tell :-P It really was great to watch Orion in the flight simulator, well when he wasn't crashing the plane into the ground, yikes again! J/K, he did a fabulous job once he got the hang of it!

Speaking of flight simulators... that is where he was when I took my bench shot, wish he was with me!!!! But as it was his birthday & it's hard enough to get him to willing take pictures these days, I didn't push!

So here I am flying solo!!!! PS~ This was the wonkiest bench I have ever stood on!!! Not really fit for a picnic let alone me staying on it! I truly had a feeling of flying as it swayed back & forth!!!!

We ended our day at the river, a walk, stick play, rock throwing, & picture taking were some of the happenings :o) Then we headed home for some jet birthday cake! It was truly a fabulous weekend!!!

Happy {Bithday} Bench Monday!

Bench Monday: Jumping Beans Edition
{April 26 2010}
Bench Monday: Jumping Beans Edition {+1 in comments}
So yesterday we took a much needed family outing to the James River! What a beautiful day for rock throwing, stick play, & water splashing :o) Thankfully the river was a bit high for swimmers, so the area was less crowded than usual.

My hubby happily watched the beans so I could get some long exposure shots of the clouds along the riverbank. He also helped encourage me to jump the rocks, as I did not really want to :-P The oldest bean was a leaping lizard, no fear in sight!

Long Exposure of
The James River

We walked the trails & enjoyed the shoreline, well that day it was an ocean, an ocean!! Littlest bean, no matter how much we tried to get him to say river, was content with thinking the river an ocean, very sweet! His curiosity did get him in over his head for a bit, as he managed to stumble into the river, pretty much face first. But emerged with a slightly wet smile & whimpery giggles.

Oooops!

Oldest bean enjoyed throwing drift logs back into the river, he surely made a splash every time!!! He also insisted on carrying a nature box, by the end of the day it was filled with: shells, rocks, twigs, & leaves.

Once back at the van, littlest bean needed to be stripped of his muddy/wet clothes & both beans enjoyed a snack. While mommie & daddy enjoyed a yummy blue rocky beverage :o) It was a wonderful adventure for all! And though it was not Monday I could not resist getting a family bench shoot in there. No matter how much we were stared at for repeatedly jumping off our rock bench. Littlest bean was over the moon with joy to jump again & again! Truthfully I could have done it all day long too :-)

So last night I slept at my bestie's house so i could take her & her hubby to the airport by 5am to catch their honeymoon flight to Cancun. We all woke around 3am, unloaded a few last wedding day leftovers from my van, & off we went. Upon arrival we had about 2 seconds to grab a Bench Monday, which I had already prepared them for :o) Snapped 4 quick shots, 3 bench shots & one of their tags I purchased 'em for their luggage!

Congratulations Kristin & Andrew! Thank you for letting me share in your special day! Hope you two have a spectacular time on your honeymoon! Love you both!
